RBS has appointed Ray Zabarte as head of trade services, global transaction services.

Zabarte will also hold the role of chief administrative officer for trade and he will report directly to Anand Pande, head of trade, global transaction services, RBS international banking.

Zabarte joined from Barclays where he was head of trade product management and led on all aspects of product improvement, including major trade infrastructure development. Previously, he held several trade product leadership positions at Standard Chartered

“Ray’s wealth of experience and product knowledge will help us to grow our trade proposition that includes a diverse and rich product portfolio with tenors ranging between 10 days and 10 years,” says Pande.

Commenting on his new role, Zabarte says: “I am excited about joining RBS, with its extensive country network that enables the bank to intermediate on 80% of the world’s trade flows.”

Zabarte has been in international banking for 20 years, responsible for trade finance and cash management products across Europe, Asia and Australia.

During this time he has developed and grown products across the transaction services spectrum, building solutions for global corporates, financial Institutions and SMEs.
