HSBC has appointed Kai Fehr as head of Europe and Ajit Menon as head of the Americas in its Global Trade Solutions unit, after Marissa Adams, who previously held both roles, left the bank.  

In addition to their regional leadership duties, both Fehr and Menon will have joint global responsibility for the trade division’s industry groups, according to an internal memo seen by GTR.

Fehr will cover institutional clients and trade asset distribution; energy and materials; and industrials, transport and infrastructure, according to the July 30 memo, while Menon will have responsibility for consumer and healthcare; technology, media and telecommunications; and professional services. 

Adams, who had been head of trade for both Europe and the Americas since February 2025, has left HSBC to pursue other opportunities, a person familiar with the matter said.  

Fehr joined HSBC in 2025 as sole global head of industry groups and partnerships, after departing Standard Chartered as head of trade and working capital in late 2024. 

Menon has been with HSBC since 2004, according to his LinkedIn profile. He moved to New York in 2022 and became head of trade in the US in March 2025.
