Bursak joins Lockton as regional credit director for Asia

Lockton has appointed former WTW senior director Alex Bursak as regional director, credit, Asia.

With nearly two decades of experience spanning trade credit insurance, corporate banking and structured finance, Bursak joins Lockton’s Singapore office after a 16-year career focused on Asia Pacific markets.

Most recently, he served as WTW’s senior director and multinational trade credit leader for Asia Pacific between 2023 and 2026.

Prior to that, Bursak was regional director of sales and business development for Asia Pacific at LiquidX between February 2021 and June 2023.

He also spent over eight years at Allianz Trade in the same region, including as head of sales and distribution for Singapore, country manager for Indonesia and head of risk information and grading for Asean.

As part of this newly created role at Lockton, Bursak will work closely with the firm’s regional and global teams to develop its credit capabilities and strengthen relationships with insurers and lenders across Asia. He reports to Frederic Boles, regional head of professional and executive risk and credit, Asia.

Boles said Bursak’s “deep market expertise, proven leadership experience and strong understanding of the credit risk landscape across Asia” made him “an outstanding addition” to the team.

“As businesses face increasing economic uncertainty and supply chain complexity, Alex’s experience will further enhance our ability to support clients with market-leading credit and political risk solutions,” Boles added.

Bursak described his appointment as “an exciting milestone”.

“Over the past 16 years in this dynamic growth region, the most rewarding part of my career has been partnering closely with clients, business partners, and insurers to solve complex credit and political risk challenges,” he said.

“My commitment is simple: to bring deep regional expertise, expand our regional footprint, leverage the strength of Lockton’s global platform and deliver structured solutions that help clients navigate uncertainty, safeguard liquidity and trade with confidence,” Bursak added.
