ABN Amro has announced that Carl Stocking has been appointed global head of financial institution sales and business management for Global Trade Advisory (GTA). In this role, he will be responsible for sales of ABN Amro’s traditional trade services, outsourcing and global partnerships with financial institutions around the world.

Stocking was formerly regional head of global trade advisory corporate and financial institution sales in Asia Pacific. He has more than 20 years experience in banking, in roles covering both trade finance and FI relationship management, of which he spent 15 years in postings in Asia and the Middle East with US banks.

Daniel Cotti, managing director, GTA, says: “Carl’s extensive knowledge and experience uniquely qualify him to build strategic alliances with other financial institutions around the world. By partnering with ABN Amro, these clients can leverage our global scale, expertise and investments in trade technology in order to provide the highest level of service and innovation to their trade services clients.”

ABN Amro’s customised outsourcing solutions span three distinct models: light, medium and heavy outsourcing, in which the partner bank’s entire trade processing is managed by ABN with private-labelled front-end technology. To date, it has outsourcing partnerships with more than 30 banks in the US, Asia and Europe, where it recently was awarded significant mandates with both Barclays and Allied Irish Bank.
