Armando Ambrosio has joined law firm De Berti Jacchia as head of its new Russia and CIS desk.

Ambrosio joins from NCTM, where he also headed Russia and CIS operations. The new team will assist Russian clients doing or hoping to do business in Italy. For this reason, he will be based in Italy.

He will report to the firm’s Russian strategic committee, a regional steering group which is made up of partners.

Ambrosio tells GTR about the kind of work the new Russia and CIS team will be undertaking: “The Russia and CIS desk has been created to assist Russian and CIS companies and individuals that are willing to operate on the Italian market. At the same time, it will provide first-level advisory services to those Italian clients and prospects that are interested in the Russian and CIS markets.

“With reference to the CIS region, we regularly advise our clients on a wide variety of transactions, both inbound and outbound, mainly in the field of corporate, mergers and acquisitions, projects and infrastructure, real estate, tax, intellectual property, labour and litigation.

“We offer our highly specialised services through our Moscow office, as well through a network of local correspondents made up of leading firms in the various regions of the Russian Federation and in the various CIS jurisdictions. We can prepare legal documentation in Russian, translate documents from Russian to Italian or English and vice versa. In addition, we offer conferences and seminars, as well information packages, on the legal aspects of doing business in the CIS region.”
