The director general of the UK’s Institute of Export, Maria McCaffery, is standing down after almost three years in the role. McCaffery, who was previously international director at the British Chambers of Commerce, has taken the decision for private reasons.

Since her appointment in September 2002, McCaffery has had responsibility for implementing the institute’s strategic development, particularly with UK Trade & Investment.

Andy Nemes has assumed the role of director general until a successor is chosen.
