Bob Angliss, senior manager, resource banking, at Standard Bank in London, has joined HSH Nordbank. He will help to build up the existing commodity and trade finance (CTF) team’s capability in liaising with emerging markets producers and trading companies in Europe.

Angliss has particular experience in African and Middle Eastern markets. Emphasis looking ahead will be on oil and metals.

The CTF team at HSH, led by Hansjorg Kessler, now numbers six. The bank has sharpened its profile in recent years with some experienced hires and involvement in high-profile deals such as the recent landmark US$3bn Sonangol facility which closed in October 2005 and the US$687.5mn Rual Trade (Rusal) deal in September, both where HSH was a mandated lead arranger.
