HSBC has promoted Matt Frohling to the role of managing director, head of US global trade and receivables finance sales.

Based in New York, Frohling replaces William Evans who has now retired.

Frohling joined HSBC in September 2018 as regional corporate sales manager, and prior to this he spent nearly 30 years at Citi, holding various managerial roles in Asia and America.

Most recently, he worked as Asia head of trade sales at Citi, and before this his roles at the bank included Asia supply chain head, supply chain lead for North America and US supply chain finance manager.

This addition follows the departure of Inwha Huh from the bank earlier this year. Huh left her role as global head of structured trade solutions to move to IBM’s global business services (GBS) arm in a partner role.

She joined HSBC as executive vice-president and head of global trade and receivables finance, North America, in June 2015, before taking on her most recent role in June 2017.
