ADM-ACTI Trade Resources, Inc, an Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) and Alfred C Toepfer International GmbH (ACTI) joint-venture, has started its Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) activities in Hamburg/Germany.

Joining Trade Resources to run the EMEA activities is Christian Maret, head of structured trade finance and Eric Richardson, head of distribution, who bring with them a wealth of structured trade finance experience from Andr é Group and Berenberg Bank, respectively.

Trade Resources now operates a network of offices in Decatur, Minneapolis, Singapore, Sao Paulo and Hamburg, whose main focus is to add value to ADM and ACTI commodity sales through the use of specialised trade finance structures and techniques in selected markets around the world.

ADM (www.admworld.com) is a world leader in agricultural processing and is one of the world’s largest processors of soybeans, corn, wheat and cocoa. It is also a leader in soy meal and oil, ethanol, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and flour. In addition, ADM is building a position in such value-added products as specialty food ingredients, bioproducts and nutraceuticals (such as Vitamin E and sterols).

Since 1919, Alfred C Toepfer has been trading in grain, oilseeds, and feedstuffs. The group (www.acti.de) consists of the headquarters in Hamburg and more than 40 subsidiaries and offices worldwide with approximately 750 employees achieving a sales volume over 40 million tons annually.
