BNY Mellon has hired two senior staff in its treasury services business in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (Emea).

Bana Akkad Azhari has been named head of relationship management in the Middle East and North Africa, while Cihat Takunyaci has been named head of relationship management for Turkey, Russia, the CIS and Israel. Both have joined the treasury services Emea management team.

Azhari and Takunyaci will report into Dominic Broom, head of sales and relationship management and Tarek Elrefai, head of global client management, Middle East and Africa.

Both will also keep some of their current responsibilities, with Azhari remaining as regional and country manager for the Levant and North Africa, and Takunyaci continuing as country manager for Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Dominic Broom says of the appointments: “Bana and Cihat bring broad experience, regional knowledge and subject matter expertise to their newly expanded roles and they will both play a key role in respect of BNY Mellon’s business development and growth ambitions in these emerging markets.”
