Zurich has hired Nuria Gorog in its business unit providing insurance solutions in emerging markets. She is vice-president and regional manager-Continental Europe.

Zurich offers insurance coverage that helps mitigate against the political and commercial risks in trade and project financing, equity investments and capital markets transactions in more than 100 developing countries.

Gorog, who is based in Zurich’s Paris office, will be supported by the group’s underwriters in Barcelona and Washington, DC. She has responsibility for expanding the emerging markets group’s customer and broker relationships in France, Spain and throughout Continental Europe.

“With the appointment of Nuria, Zurich is addressing the demand of French clients to have a closer interaction,” adds Paolo Ribotta, branch manager of Zurich in France. “Nuria will work closely with the Zurich France team to take advantage of these opportunities.”

From 2001-06, Gorog served Unistrat Coface as vice-president and regional manager-Continental Europe. She was business development manager for political risk and insurance credit in the in-house broker of Natexis Bangues Populaires (Cauri) from 1997 to 2001.
