Stephane Gonon has been appointed deputy head of forfaiting at Calyon in Paris. He moves from Deutsche Bank Paris. Gonon reports to Patrice Tournus and Daniel Vignial who are also based in Paris.

The appointment, claims Calyon, is a result of the bank realigning its focus since the 2004 merger between the two most active forfaiting institutions in France, Credit Agricole Indosuez Forfaiting and Credit Lyonnais Forfaiting – within the trade finance division, one of the key sectors within the investment banking part of the Calyon.

The bank is demonstrating a strong level of commitment for expanding its forfaiting business worldwide, claims the bank. An aim is to increase market penetration within the 40 export and trade finance units of Calyon worldwide.
