The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) has appointed William Nowicki as managing director in its commodities and structured trade finance group.

Working within BTMU’s investment banking division for the Americas, Nowicki will support and develop the bank’s transactional trade finance business. Based in New York, he will report to Erich Michel, head of structured trade finance for the Americas.

“Bill brings to BTMU more than 25 years of trade and supply chain experience, which will enhance our ability to provide clients with the guidance and expertise they require to navigate the global trade marketplace,” says Erich. “This is a key appointment for BTMU that will advance our trade finance strategy.”

Before joining BTMU, Nowicki held a variety of senior positions with HSBC, Citigroup, Standard Chartered and JP Morgan Chase in New York and Singapore. Most recently, he was head of trade and supply chain for North America at HSBC.
