The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has opened a Pacific liaison and coordination office in Sydney.

The Pacific liaison and coordination office will be ADB’s focal point for programming, processing and administration of assistance in Kiribati, Nauru, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. In addition, the office is committed to building partnerships with the private sector, both in Australia and across ADB’s Pacific developing member countries.

The office will facilitate country reporting and updating, aid coordination, external relations and information dissemination. The strategic location in Sydney will enable ADB to be more responsive to the needs of the Pacific and expand communication with key bilateral development partners including Australia and New Zealand, and multilateral institutions active in the region.
