UK-based peer-to-peer invoice finance platform MarketInvoice has snapped up Julian Cassen from RBS as its new senior business development manager.

Cassen has over 25 years of experience in business, commercial and corporate banking and has led teams focusing on asset-based lending and business finance. He began his career at TSB in 1991, overseeing factoring facilities before joining Credit Lyonnais in 1996.

In 2003 he moved to Lloyds Banking Group to become part of its commercial finance team before joining RBS in 2013 as business development manager for finance solutions for UK clients.

In his new role, Cassen will work directly with Gavin Sumner, vice president of sales, in delivering MarketInvoice’s business development strategy across sectors and regions whilst inputting on underwriting and risk policies.

Commenting on his new role, Cassen says: “I have witnessed, first-hand, the changes in business finance services over the past couple of decades, fintech has accelerated these developments more recently. MarketInvoice has revolutionised the speed of providing business finance, ease of use with their interface for clients and, critically, maintained exceptional customer service standards. I look forward to helping shape the business and take the service far and wide across the UK”.

Commenting on the new hire, Sumner says: “Julian brings a depth of experience to the team that will benefit our clients and team alike. His deep knowledge of a range of sectors and regions will help to grow the reach of MarketInvoice and support businesses across the UK.”
