The ECAs of the US and Czech Republic have combined to finance the export of wind turbines to Israel.

US Exim guaranteed a loan of US$44.8mn provided by EGAP and GE International to Mashav Initiating and Development for the purchase of power equipment.

Among the items to be exported are a GE LM6000 PF Spring gas-turbine generator and two energy chiller packages, manufactured by TAS Services.

The goods will be used to help the expansion of Mashav’s power plant in Ramia, Israel. The transaction is the largest that EGAP and US Exim have collaborated on.

US Exim chairman Fred Hochberg says: “Our financing will boost American exports to Israel and support key manufacturing jobs here at home. The American equipment involved in the transaction is the best of its kind, and it will benefit our partners in Israel and encourage them to continue to buy American.”
