Natixis CIB has appointed Nicolas Bouvier to a newly created position of head of core industries in the bank’s global trade division.
Bouvier joined Natixis on September 1, the bank told GTR, following a 20-year career at BNP Paribas.
Based in Paris, Bouvier will manage trade product strategy and “client solutions” across major industrial sectors such as telecoms, media and tech, luxury and retail, utilities, food, aerospace and defence.
He reports to Natixis’ co-heads of global trade, Michela Cicenia and Guillaume Genet.
At BNP Paribas, Bouvier held several trade and supply chain finance roles in Paris, New York and Singapore, rising in 2022 to global head of sustainability in transaction banking.
Earlier this year, Cicenia told GTR that Natixis was taking an “ecosystem” approach to covering client sectors, recognising what she said was the bank’s growing interdependence.
The lender also hired Pierre Dempere as the bank’s first head of working capital solutions last year.
