VTB Capital, Investment Business of the VTB Group, has appointed David Brawn as global chief risk officer. Brawn will be based in London and report directly to Yuri Soloviev, global CEO of VTB Capital.

In his new position, David Brawn will be responsible for risk evaluation and enhancing and strengthening an effective risk management system for the company.

Brawn joined VTB Capital from Merrill Lynch International, where he was global head of the product valuations group from 2007 to 2008 and head of market risk management for the EMEA region from 2004 to 2005. From 2005 until 2007, Brawn managed the traded risk team in the risk review department of the Financial Services Authority in London. From 2000 to 2004, he was the global head of emerging markets and local currency trading at Commerzbank Securities. Before that, Brawn held numerous top-level positions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Banco Santander and Bankers Trust Company.
