Francesca Beomonte has been promoted to the position of global head of structured trade and export finance (STEF) at UniCredit. She begins next month and will be based in Milan.

Beomonte replaces Eriks Atvars who will become UniCredit’s global head of natural resources.

Since 2011, Beomonte has held the role of head of STEF for UniCredit Italy, and prior to this was head of trade, product and sales – a position assumed in 2003.

In her new role, she will also continue her duties as vice-chairman of the European Banking Federation’s Export Credit Working Group.

Beomonte and Atvars will both begin their new roles on September 1, and report to Goffredo Guizzardi and Christian Reusch, UniCredit’s co-heads of global financing and advisory.

Since joining UniCredit in 1995, Atvars has previously been head of power and environment and deputy head of infrastructure and power project finance (IPPF).

He became head of STEF in 2017, succeeding Jürgen Wienes. He will continue to be Munich-based.
