UniCredit has appointed Eriks Atvars as head of structured trade and export finance (STEF) within its global financing and advisory (F&A) division, taking effect immediately.

He succeeds Jürgen Wienes, who has left the bank. Based in Munich, Atvars will also lead the STEF Germany team, and will report to Richard Burton and Andreas Mayer, co-heads of global F&A.

Atvars comes from a role as head of infrastructure and power project finance (IPPF) for Germany. He has been with UniCredit since 1995, holding various roles in Hamburg and Riga before joining the project finance team in Munich in 2001. In 2010, Atvars was named the global head of power and environment, and was promoted to deputy head of IPPF in 2014.
