Barclays has appointed Jeroen Reyes Stolker as head of trade and working capital for the Middle East region.

Stolker will lead the trade and working capital business from Dubai, reporting to managing director, head of trade and working capital international Baihas Baghdadi. Among his responsibilities will be to provide clients with end-to-end trade and working capital solutions.

Stolker has been working in international trade finance for over a decade. He joined Barclays in 2007 and has worked in a number of senior regional and global positions. Before his latest appointment, he was leading the bank’s business development and product management areas of trade and working capital international in Madrid.

Commenting on the appointment, Baghdadi says: “The size and growth potential of these Middle Eastern economies and the growing number of companies involved in trade within these areas increases the demand for quality trade finance and working capital services and products.”

“Recognising this growing need, we decided to expand our on-the-ground team and enhance the support they have from the UK head office.”

Before his move to Barclays, Stolker worked at Citibank, both in London and Madrid.
