Alan Lin has been named global head of cash for transaction banking at Standard Chartered in Singapore.

Reporting to global head of transaction banking, Alex Manson, he is responsible for growing the bank’s cash management business. Lin joins from Citi, where he spent more than 20 years in transaction banking. He was most recently head of treasury and trade solutions, Greater China, for the American bank.

It is the second major appointment by Standard Chartered in recent weeks, after David Koh was named head of transaction banking for China and North Asia in August. He joined from Westpac, where he headed corporate and institutional banking for Asia.

Manson says: “We are delighted to have Alan on board. Alan is very well-regarded in the industry and his wealth of experience will be invaluable in taking this business to the next level.”

Lin adds: “I am very excited to join Standard Chartered. I look forward to working closely with its world class transaction banking team to deliver the best client experience and further strengthen its position as a global leader in the world’s most dynamic markets.”
