Standard Chartered has appointed Cristian Jonsson as global head of loan syndications.

Based in Singapore, Jonsson will lead a team to develop the bank’s global loan syndications business. He will report to Carsten Stoehr, StanChart’s global head of capital markets.

Jonsson will start the position on January 1, 2013, succeeding Philip Cracknell who will retire from the bank at the end of March 2013.

Jonsson joined StanChart as global head of bond syndicates in 2009 and is also currently the bank’s regional head of capital markets for Southeast Asia. In this role, he manages the Southeast Asian capital markets business across loans, bonds, structured finance and also oversees the underwriting and distribution of the bank’s global bond activity.
