Standard Chartered has appointed Francesco Miccoli as head of financial institutions (FI) and Owen Davies as head of implementation and client management, transaction banking Europe.

Miccoli was appointed CEO of Standard Chartered Italy in 2011, having joined the bank in 2008 to look after its Southern European FI clients. Continuing with his CEO role, his new responsibilities will also see him managing the transaction banking needs of the bank’s European FI clients.

Davies joined Standard Chartered’s transaction banking team in 2015, working within implementation and client management. Before joining the bank, he spent 17 years at Citi within treasury and trade solutions, holding roles in operations, sales and implementation. In his new role, Davies will be responsible for the European client management strategy and will be a key member of the global management team driving the transformation agenda for the bank’s clients.

Both will report to Richard Jaggard, head of transaction banking Europe and will be a part of the regional business leadership team.

The team has also strengthened its on-the-ground support for European corporate clients with two new appointments to its Germany and Nordics offices.

Jan Willem de Vreeze joins Standard Chartered’s international corporates transaction banking team, based in Frankfurt. Responsible for providing transaction banking solutions to German and Swiss-based corporate clients, de Vreeze was previously at Bank of America, where he headed up the cash management and trade finance team for the Benelux region.

Based in Stockholm, Nicolas Saoudi joins the bank from Crédit Agricole, and will be responsible for supporting the bank’s Nordic corporate clients with their transaction banking needs.
