RBS has appointed Mike Gilham as director for financial institutions trade origination, Emea.

He joins the bank from Lloyds, where he was most recently senior product manager, responsible for documentary collections, letters of credit and trade refinancing products.

Gilham previously headed-up Lloyds’ financial institutions trade finance for more than five years, after joining the bank from Citi in 2005. At Citi, he worked as a trade and credit risk associate for six years.

He will report to both Loukas Dasargiris (head of Ceemea, Southern Europe and Latin America transaction services, financial institutions) and Martin Fiddaman (head of northern Europe, transaction services, financial institutions).

The pair has released a joint-statement saying: “We are delighted that Mike has joined RBS’s transaction services team, bringing with him extensive experience and knowledge of trade finance. Hiring someone of Mike’s calibre evidences the importance RBS places on delivering tailored trade finance solutions to its financial institutions clients.”
