Rabobank has appointed two new global heads to its commodity and metals teams.

Peter Zonneveld has been chosen for the newly-created position of global head of structured inventory products (Sips).

Zonneveld will have full responsibility for Sips, in which Rabobank becomes the legal owner of the commodity in a transaction.

Zonneveld moves to Rabobank after a career in law, most recently working as a global solicitor at ABN Amro.

He has also held roles with Lovells, Baker and McKenzie and Fortis Bank.

“We’re very pleased to announce the arrival of Peter and delighted that he is joining the trade and commodities finance [team],” says Stephan Jansma, head of trade and commodities finance, London, at Rabobank.

“He brings with him a wealth of legal experience that will be invaluable in driving our Sips business.”

The second global head position at Rabobank has been filled by Walter Vollebregt, who becomes the bank’s global head of metals and minerals.

Vollebregt joins the bank from private equity and fund management firm APG Asset Management where he was a senior portfolio manager for commodities.
