WestLB’s Investment Banking Latin American unit has hired Therese Rabieh as managing director and head of corporate/trade and structured commodity finance, reporting to Carl Adams, managing director and head of structured and corporate finance.

“The combination of WestLB’s expertise and positioning in the Latin American market, as well as Ms Rabieh’s proven track record of successful transactions and senior level contacts in the industry, will further strengthen the bank’s ability to serve our clients,” says Adams.

“WestLB has been a market leader in structuring and syndicating facilities for over 30 years in Latin America, working with some of the largest corporates throughout the region,” adds Moses Dodo, general manager of the WestLB AG New York branch and head of the Latin American business.

Rabieh, who is based in New York, brings over 20 years of experience in the Latin America financial services industry to her new role, with experience in both originating and syndicating deals. Before joining WestLB, she was at JPMorgan Chase as managing director and head of Latin America loan syndication and distribution, responsible for structuring, pricing, underwriting and syndication of all Latin American transactions.

Before that, she was a vice-president in the structured finance group at Bank of New York responsible for originating, marketing, structuring, closing and distributing transactions for Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and the Middle East.

She also held similar positions at Bankers Trust and Banco do Comercio e Industria de Sao Paulo, New York.
