Petrofac has appointed Afonso Reis e Sousa as group treasurer, replacing Brendan Boucher who will be leaving the global oil company.

Reis e Sousa joined Petrofac in 2012 as group head of structured finance. He has been instrumental in a number of initiatives, including financing for the Berantai floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, ECA financing for the Petrofac JSD 6000 and debt financing for a transaction with First Reserve.

He will continue to be based in London but will spend significantly more time with Petrofac’s treasury team in Sharjah, UAE.

Reis e Sousa has almost 20 years’ experience in finance, having previously worked for Sumitomo Mitsui, Taylor-DeJongh, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, specialising mainly in energy-related financing.

Brendan Boucher leaves Petrofac to take up the group treasurer role at AstraZeneca.
