Stuart Nivison has been promoted to become HSBC’s new global head of audit for commercial banking, trade and supply chain and global payments and cash management.

Mark Emmerson moves to Nivison’s previous position of regional head of trade and supply chain for Europe.

Emmerson’s appointment highlights HSBC’s strategy to tap into the increase in trade moving from west to east, as he moves to the European role from HSBC Indonesia where he was a senior executive, head of corporate banking position.

“As the new trade paradigm continues to shift towards the east, Mark’s extensive experience garnered through his previous roles in Indonesia and Hong Kong will be a valuable asset to our European clients as they look to expand in the Asia Pacific market,” says Rakesh Bhatia, global head of trade and supply chain at the bank.
