HSBC has appointed Quang Buu Huynh as head of global trade and receivables finance (GTRF), Asia Pacific (international).

Starting in his new role on September 1, Huynh will run the bank’s GTRF strategy in Brunei, Japan, South Korea, Mauritius, New Zealand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand. He will report to Simon Constantinides, regional head of GTRF Asia Pacific.

Huynh joined HSBC in 1996 in Vietnam, where he led the bank’s commercial banking team for the past six years.

Constantinides says: “Quang’s appointment further endorses the strategic importance of GTRF to the HSBC group. In terms of revenue, our trade and receivables finance business within Asia Pacific is our single largest region in the group and is seen as a key revenue driver globally. This appointment will enable us to further focus on increasing market penetration and connectivity within the region as well across key trade corridors, providing enhanced support to our clients’ international activities.”

Huynh’s appointment follows those of Bhriguraj Singh and Ricardo Elias in May 2012, as HSBC’s Asia Pacific GTRF regional head of product management and regional head of receivables finance, respectively.
