HSBC global payments and cash management (GPCM) has appointed Brian Tsang as senior manager, regional client management office, GPCM, Asia Pacific.

Reporting to Natasha Patel, head of client management, GPCM, Asia Pacific, Tsang will focus on implementing HSBC’s next generation service strategy delivery and fulfilment model in 20 markets across the Asia Pacific region.

Tsang brings with him more than 15 years of financial services experience, including two years as head of global payments and cash management, HSBC China. A cash management specialist, Tsang has worked in sales, business development and product management and was most recently head of commercial banking sales, within the GPCM team.

John Laurens, head of GPCM, Asia Pacific, notes: “Delivering excellent service has been a long standing commitment to our clients, and an essential aspect of our business we constantly seek to improve. In this regard, Tsang’s experience and knowledge of the cash management industry, together with his client facing experience, are the perfect combination to deliver best in class client service across Asia Pacific.”

This appointment comes just two days after business head John Laurens told a full auditorium at Sibos in Hong Kong that HSBC views investment in service as “essential to sustaining competitive advantage in the cash management industry”.
