Bonnie Galat, global head of trade and supply chain business development at the IFC, will retire from her position at the end of January.

She will leave Paris, and return to Washington, where she was previously based for 20 years.

She comments on her time spent outside of DC: “It certainly was a challenging time in terms of economic and regulatory developments, which in many cases brought opportunities to work more closely with our bank partners in trade finance.”

Replacing Galat, Susanna Kavelaar will take up her new position in Paris representing the trade and supply chain department in Europe as of February 2014.

A Dutch national, Kavelaar joined the IFC in 2010 in Buenos Aires, where she has been a trade finance specialist responsible for business development in the southern cone.
