Trade Technologies, a trade document services and software provider, has appointed Alexander Paetzold to the newly-created role of managing director for Germany.

Paetzold will be based in Trade Technologies’ Stuttgart office and assume responsibility for the company’s business development and operations throughout continental Europe.

Paetzold brings over 20 years of trade finance and sales experience. He was most recently HSBC Germany’s head of global trade and receivables finance sales, South region, a position that he held since 2017. Before that, he held several roles within Deutsche Bank’s global transaction banking business over a period of nine years, including sales for trade finance and cash management corporates.

Paetzold reports to Kirk Lundburg, CEO of Trade Technologies, who comments on the hire: “We are extremely excited to add Alexander to our Emea team in this important leadership position. Alexander is a consummate trade professional with the knowledge and experience to deliver our unique combination of industry-leading trade digitisation software and global professional trade services for exporters and global trade banks.”

Trade Technologies Germany began its operations in Stuttgart in November 2018. Since then, it has added over 70 exporter customers and grown its office to a team of six trade professionals.

“Trade Technologies is making a real difference in cash flow, digitisation and predictability of payment for exporters globally,” says Paetzold. “I am excited to bring this product and message to German and European exporters.”
