Trade specialist Falcon Trade Corporation has made two new appointments – a new country head for Saudi Arabia and a new head of operations in London.

Awadh Mohamed Qahtan has been appointed Falcon’s country manager for Saudi Arabia. Qahtan will take up this role in Jeddah in August – leaving his role as executive vice-president at Arabian Food Suppliers. At Falcon he will focus on origination and relationship management, with both new potential clients and with Falcon’s existing client base of trading companies and financial institutions.

The appointment further underlines the independent specialist’s strong intent with respect to the Middle East – adding to offices in Dubai and Riyadh.

Falcon’s CFO Will Nagle says: “Awadh’s background in import and export made him an ideal candidate for the role, which will be helping local companies improve their balance sheet positions through the application of trade financing structures. We have a strong client base in Saudi, which Awadh can help us deepen and broaden.”

Meanwhile, Falcon is strengthening its back office – appointing Neill Way as head of operations, which will include overseeing accounts administration.

“As we grow it is imperative to ensure that the internal infrastructure is able to cope with the new volumes and heightened client expectations with respect to service levels and delivery,” says Nagle. “Neill will be in daily communication with the operations and accounts administration teams so to address any issues that may arise in relation to the functionality of these activities.”

Richard Blackman and Gregg Carvalho will remain directly responsible for the operations and accounts administration divisions respectively.
