Deutsche Bank (DB) has hired two members to its structured trade and export finance (STEF) team in Asia.

Evert-Jan Zondag joins the team as a senior originator and will be responsible for leading the origination and export finance business in Hong Kong.

Zondag has over a decade’s banking experience and before moving to DB he worked at ABN Amro/RBS in the export and project finance team and held senior roles in ABN Amro/RBS financial markets advisory business.

He will be reporting to Paul Gardner, head of DB’s STEF in Asia.

Furthermore, Edward Hui will join Zondag’s team, and will be responsible for structuring financing solutions for DB’s clients in Asia.

Hui also comes from ABN Amro/RBS, where he has four year’s experience in the export and project finance team.

Gardner comments: “I am delighted to welcome Evert-Jen and Edward to our team. Their expert knowledge of the structured trade and export finance industry will enable Deutsche Bank to maximise the extensive opportunities that exist in this sector in Asia.”

DB’s global head of Stef, Klaus Michalak, agrees: “The two new appointments to our STEF team in Asia strengthen our client coverage in the region. This reinforces our commitment to serve our Asian clients with best-in-class structured financing solutions in the commodity, receivables and ECA areas and further strengthens our global product delivery.”
