David Bee has left Lloyds Bank to join Crown Agents Bank as the inaugural head of global markets.

Based in London, Bee will oversee international payment services for Crown Agents Bank’s client network of central and commercial banks, official institutions and selected NGO and non-bank financial institutions.

Bee has 30 years of experience in emerging and frontier markets, including senior roles at Citi, Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered. Most recently, he was head of offshore financial markets and institutional FX sales at Lloyds Bank.

Commenting on his new role, Bee says he will seek to “improve access to, and enhance pricing for, a wide range of emerging market currencies” across OECD markets, Africa, the Caribbean and other selected developing nations. Use of new technologies will be the fulcrum of greater connection in global banking for commercial and central bank clients, he adds.

According to Albert Maasland, CEO of Crown Agents Bank, Bee has been brought in to help the bank push further into foreign currencies and FX payments in frontier and emerging markets.
