Gerry Keefe is the new head of corporate banking, Asia Pacific at Citi.

Within his role he will assume responsibility for all financial institutions and public sector banking: he was most recently the head of Citi’s Japan corporate bank.

He will be based in Hong Kong from the second quarter of this year, reporting to head of Asia Pacific, Mark Slaughter and Michael Roberts, global head of corporate banking.

Keefe has been with Citi since 2006, when he joined from law firm Dechert, where he was a partner in their structured practice. He relocated to Asia in 2014, having held various roles at Citi in the US, including head of origination for securitised products.

Slaughter says: “Gerry’s appointment underlines the importance of Asia Pacific to our global corporate banking franchise. We look forward to his leadership as we build further on the strong relationships we have across the region with both Asian companies from corporates, financials and public sector clients and the Fortune 500 who we bank across the region.”
