BTMU has appointed Jean-Marie Le Fouest as its new group head of commodity and structured trade finance (CSTF) within its investment banking division for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The bank’s CSTF division covers the short-term financing of commodity traders, the medium-term financing of commodity producers and the long-term financing covered by export credit agencies of importers of capital goods and services.

Le Fouest joins from BNP Paribas, where he had been for 30 years, most recently as deputy head of energy and commodity finance Europe, based in Geneva. He had been responsible for growing the French bank’s business across a variety of trade finance product lines in Paris, New York and Geneva.

“BTMU is globally coming to prominence in commodity and structured trade finance activities. I look forward to contributing my experience and working with the team to enable further growth and provide the highest quality of service to BTMU’s clients,” says Le Fouest.

He will report to Andrew Jameson, general manager, head of the investment banking division for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
