Credit and political risk insurance broker BPL Global has promoted Sam Evans to director.

He joined BPL Global in 2004 as a graduate trainee and has since gained extensive experience working with European-based clients, including corporates, banks and commodity traders, focusing on the African market. He most recently held the title of assistant director.

With the promotion, Evans will take on increased managerial duties, as well as be involved in further development of the firm’s credit and political risk insurance product. He will continue to oversee a London-based team of six focused specifically on the French-speaking banking sector.

BPL Global’s managing director Sian Aspinall says the appointment is evidence of the broker’s commitment to “promoting talent from within and retaining our independence”.

“Sam’s extensive market knowledge and calibre as a broker mean that he is highly regarded at both BPL Global and by clients alike. We are delighted to welcome Sam to the board in recognition of this,” she adds.
