Boutique lender Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed Simon Davies as global trade finance director.

Davies will provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) around the world with cross-border funding solutions that link international trade finance products with domestic receivables financing.

Davies has spent the last 15 years in senior management roles at businesses in both developed and emerging markets, including posts with Rabobank in the Netherlands and Volvo Financial Services in Latin America.

Davies says: “With economic uncertainty present in so many jurisdictions, SMEs are being encouraged by governments and business associations to look further afield to continue their growth. So in addition to providing international trade finance solutions, we will also seek to address the day-to-day concerns and challenges presented to smaller companies doing business overseas.”

BFS has 46 offices in 14 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions.
