Karl Trumper has been appointed Barclays’ new head of trade and working capital UK.

He replaces John Bevan, who previously also covered Ireland. GTR has learnt that Bevan has moved to Secure Trust Bank to head up a new commercial finance division.

Trumper joined the bank in 2002, and has held a number of senior roles across the corporate banking division, including regional head of coverage in the North West and Wales, regional director for medium business and head of sales for larger business. In his new role he reports to Dan Roberts, head of trade and working capital.

Roberts comments on the appointment: “Karl’s background, experience and leadership ensure he is best placed to lead our UK trade and working capital business. We have a market-leading invoice discounting business which continues to go from strength to strength; and by integrating the business with our global trade finance team two years ago, we’ve become much more holistic in our approach to working capital needs analysis.”
