Alex Sin has joined Barclays Capital in Hong Kong as a director in the global loans business to develop Greater China loans operations.

Sin reports to Richard Palmer, head of loan origination and structuring for Asia Pacific.

Sin leaves Citigroup, where he was largely focused on structured and project finance for nearly 14 years.

Sin’s appointment is part of the Barclays Asia loans team’s expansion that accelerated following the relocation from London to Hong Kong of Hans Fuchs in June 2006 to spearhead the firm’s business in the region.

Justin Crane joined the team as head of loan syndicate and sales for Asia-Pacific in August 2006, while Birendra Baid, Claude Chevroulet and Cecily Fan also joined in November.
