Atradius has hired Tony Gordon as its new head of risk in Ireland. He will lead the team responsible for managing the trade credit risks of Irish businesses.

Gordon joins Atradius from Coface, where he was a risk manager for Ireland for almost five years. He has 20 years of experience in the commercial and risk sides of the industry, during which he also worked at Allianz and Marsh.

Stuart Ramsden, country manager of Atradius Ireland, comments on the appointment: “Tony couldn’t have joined Atradius at a better time. We have developed a name for ourselves as the trade credit insurer that helps Irish businesses, particularly after well-publicised claims pay-outs on Superquinn, BHT and other high profile cases in recent months. As a result, we’ve seen a surge in demand from businesses looking to protect their receivables both at home or even entering new export markets. With 20 years in the business in Ireland and an impeccable reputation, Tony is the perfect candidate to fill our most senior Irish underwriting position and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Gordon adds: “Atradius is a company committed to helping Irish trade to happen and I look forward to playing a key role in their ongoing success in this. The trade climate for Irish companies is tough, but it’s good to be able give businesses some peace of mind by managing their trade credit risks – we are here to help.”
