Hodaka Shoji has been appointed head of specialised finance, Japan, at ANZ.

Shoji reports to Grant Knuckey, CEO of Japan, and Chris Raciti, head of loan syndications and specialised finance, North Asia. He joins from Mizuho Asia Infra Capital, a Singapore-based infrastructure fund manager, where he was chief investment officer.

ANZ’s specialised finance provides structured lending to corporate clients. Among its product offerings are structured trade, asset, project and export finance.

Shoji has experience in structuring, risk mitigation, structured trade and commodity finance and project finance – including with JBIC and Nexi, Japan’s export credit agency and insurer.

Raciti says: “Supporting our Japanese customers’ manufactured exports and outbound investments is critical to ANZ’s regional offering and we are delighted to have someone of Shoji-san’s extensive experience with structured financing arrangements join the team.”
