The government of Italy has agreed to set up a €
2mn (US$2.48mn) Italian Cooperation Fund for Technical Assistance at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

 

The fund, to be administered by the ADB, will finance a programme of technical assistance operations, including project preparation, advisory services and project implementation, and other activities agreed upon by the Italian government and the ADB.


Target activities will include developing small and medium-sized enterprises, microfinance, private sector, energy, agriculture, and the environment. All the ADB’s developing member countries will be eligible for assistance under the fund.


The fund will be made available to the ADB upon signing of the agreement.
