This year the International Forfaiting Association (IFA) will hold its 30th annual conference at the Grand Marina Hotel in Barcelona , from September 17-19.

The conference will begin on Wednesday 17 with the opening speaker Carlos Duarte, a prominent Spanish poet and linguist. The finale on Friday will be TV personality and former MP Gyles Brandreth, who will entertain attendees with his experiences of meeting leaders in politics and finance all over the world.

The popular market practice sessions will focus on market practice guidelines and conducted as panel discussions and workshops.

The programme will be complemented by the IFA annual general meeting, a panel on the work of regional committees and a presentation of the first six-month record of the recently inaugurated internet-based trading platform for export-related assets.

As usual, a lively social programme will offer participants excellent networking opportunities.

The association has over 150 members, mainly banks and other financial institutions actively engaged in the forfaiting business. This annual event is regarded by IFA member firms as the major highlight in the yearly calendar, offering an unrivalled opportunity for senior representatives to participate in discussion and debate about the latest developments in the market. Last year’s event in Dublin attracted more than 150 attendees.  This year’s event is expected to be even more popular as for the first time there is no restriction to the number of delegates per institution.
