Banking veteran Thierry Josz has been chosen as BNP Paribas’s new global head of global trade solutions (GTS) and head of the GTS competence centre.

Josz has worked in the banking industry for almost 20 years, beginning when he joined the international trade finance division at Belgium’s Generale Bank, which was acquired by Fortis in 1998.

The international trade finance division later developed into Fortis’s global export and project finance business and Josz held a number of positions within the group.

These included managing the structured commodity finance activity, building operations in the EMEA region and finally moving to the export and project finance business in emerging countries.

Brussels-based Josz replaces Jean-Paul Riolacci, who was operating from Paris before his departure.
