Spend management solutions provider Ariba has appointed Peter Lugli as senior director, working capital management and business development.

Lugli joins Ariba from PrimeRevenue, where he held the position of vice-president, marketing and global programme management.

In his new role, Lugli will help shape Ariba’s direction and strategy regarding the company’s working capital management initiatives. He will report to Robert Solomon, senior vice-president and general manager, Ariba Supplier Network.

“In today’s economy, there is tremendous value to be gained by buyers and sellers from leveraging a common platform to connect and collaborate and access solutions that enable them to ensure their mutual success,” comments Solomon. “Ariba delivers such solutions through the Ariba Network, and with the addition of Lugli, we can further strengthen our offerings and the value that we deliver to companies around the world.”

Lugli has over 10 years’ experience in business-to-business supply chain technology, solutions and services. He was part of the team that helped launch the world’s largest business-to-business network for the global mining, metals and minerals industry in 2000. Lugli’s background is law, with business experience in mining exploration services within the Anglo American family of companies.
