Ukrainian president, Viktor Yuschenko, has signed a bill into law on amendments to the law on the rates of export duty on some oil-bearing crops.


According to the bill adopted by the parliament on July 7, the export duty on flax seeds (cracked and non-cracked), sunflower seeds (ground and non-ground) will equal 16% of their customs value. These rates will come into effect on January 1, 2006.


As of January 1, 2007, the export duty rate on oil-bearing crops seeds of the mentioned types will go down by 1% notch every year to 10%.
Now the export duty on some oil-bearing crops seeds is 17% of their customs value.


This law is one of the preconditions of the country’s entry to the World Trade Organisation.
