Green Capital Advisors (GCA) has appointed Peter Jones as its new managing director. Jones assumed his position on February 22, 2010, and is based in the United Kingdom.

Jones has also been appointed as a senior associate of International Financial Consulting, a sister company of GCA.

Diana Smallridge, chairman of Green Capital Advisors and president of International Financial Consulting comments on the appointment: “Jones will provide the leadership essential to the development and expansion of GCA as a leading consultant and advisor in the important field of environmental finance, climate change and renewable energy, as well as strengthening the experience and skills of International Financial Consulting.”

Jones was recently the chief executive officer of the African Trade Insurance Agency in Naoribi, Kenya for 2006 to 2009, before retiring for family reasons.

He had previously been with the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (Miga) in Washington DC as head of reinsurance and insurance operations support.

Before joining Miga in 1999, Jones held several positions with Export Development Canada (EDC).

A banker by profession, Jones has worked with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), London; Grindlays Bank/ ANZ, London; Chemco International Leasing, Toronto and Hong Kong; and Bank of Montreal, Toronto.
